How to Play The Dead Wasteland

Your mission? Cross the wasteland. Fuel the train. Kill everything dead. Earn cash for every mile traveled. Run out of fuel or health? Game over. Distance traveled equals currency earned.

Survive the Desert

Walk off the train with W, A, S, D. Sprint with Shift. Zombies and ghosts spawn constantly. Shoot them with LMB. Explore ruined buildings for loot. Press E to grab fuel cans, weapons, ammo, and bandages. Return to the train before dark. Press I to refuel. Press R to reload guns.

Manage Your Train

Train has two resources: Fuel and your Health. No fuel? Dead stop. No health? Restart from zero. Collect monster heads. Hold them and press E near the carriage to store them. Monster heads sell for bonus cash. Press B to buy upgrades at stations. Better guns. More fuel capacity. Faster train speed.

Combat and Inventory

Drop cartridges on the ground. Pick up a weapon. Walk over the ammo and press E to reload instantly. Switch inventory slots with 1, 2, 3. Press Q to discard items. Press F to throw items from your bag. Heavy objects like heads? Hold them in the active slot and press T to remove. Some items only fit in the bag. Plan your loadout before leaving the train.
